Roots N Blues N BBQ Festival-Columbia, MO

The Roots N Blues N BBQ Festival will span three days from Friday, September 29-Sunday, October 1 and offer a wide variety of music with more than 30 artists to entertain you throughout the event. Enjoy delicious BBQ to go with the music.

There will also be a ½ Marathon and 10K on Saturday morning as well as a gospel celebration on Sunday. Tickets are available for individual days or for the full events.

With nonstop entertainment on multiple stages throughout the event, there is sure to be something you will enjoy. Whether you find an old favorite or expose yourself to something new, Roots N Blues N BBQ will definitely satisfy your musical interests this weekend.

Shryocks Callaway Farms Corn Maze-Columbia, MO

Fall is here and that means all kinds of outdoor fun is waiting for you at Shryock’s Callaway Farms Corn Maze. The corn maze just recently opened for the season so plan a visit soon to avoid some of the crowds that will come as the season progresses.

Grab your family and friends to spend an afternoon in the corn maze. You don’t have to end the fun there. The farm offers more fun at the big red barn, which offers drinks and snacks and a three-story gumball coaster. Watch your gumball travel through three stories of tracks and gadgets to reach the bottom.

Pumpkins will be available by the end of September and hayrides and campfires can be scheduled for groups to make a great outing. There is nothing like a day at the farm to get ready for fall. Hope you find your way out of the maze.

40th Annual Heritage Festival and Craft Show-Columbia, MO

Step back in time at the 40^th Annual Heritage Festival and Craft Show this weekend. You will see history come to life watching tradesman and artisans demonstrate skills from the past dressed in traditional 19^th century attire. Columbia Pet Expo

Celebrate your canine or feline friend with the Columbia Pet Expo on Saturday, August 26^th from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Register for the 5K and then enjoy all of the activities that follow.

The event will be held at Stephens Lake Park and the cost is $15 for the 5K. There will be prizes for the top three runners who do not have dogs and the top three who run with their dogs. Vendors will be on hand to provide information and to sell pet-friendly products. This event benefits No Kill in Columbia Mo. It is also pet-friendly so bring your four-legged friends. Solar Eclipse 2017

One of the biggest events ever to hit Columbia, MO will take place on Monday, August 21^st with the total solar eclipse. The entire city and region is celebrating with numerous activities and events.

Spend the weekend in Cosmo Park for several exciting events. First, on Sunday, August 20^th, participate in the Totality Run, a walk/run through Bear Creek Trail. The race starts at 9 AM in Cosmo Park at the skate park.

Enjoy a relaxing bike ride after you finish the race with the Totality Ride. Also starting at the skate park in Cosmo Park, the ride begins at 11 AM and travels through Bear Creek Trail to Oakland Park where there will be lunch and live music before heading back to Cosmo Park.

The Totality Music Fest is a free event held on both Sunday and Monday with a variety of performances both days. The event opens at 12:30 PM on Sunday and continues through the evening, reopening at 11 AM on Monday. See performances by The Bel Airs, Old Salt Union, the St. Louis Sprockets Stunt Bike Show and more. Food vendors will be in the park and there will be a beer garden.

Along with the fun events at Cosmo Park, many local businesses will be hosting special events for the eclipse.
