Open on January 7 and 8, 2017, this special exhibition in the Museum of Art and Archaeology focuses on three collections which showcase the black American family. The photographs are exceptional and will interest visitors.
One collection comes from the Songs of My People at the 1992 Smithsonian Institution exhibition. A second collection is from a photo essay in 1997-1998 entitled Commitment: Fatherhood in Black America. The third is from the Missouri Photo Workshop which documents life in small towns around Missouri. The event is free and open to everyone. To learn more, visit the Mizzou website.
