The Museum of Art and Archeology is featuring a special exhibition which runs through December 23, 2016 on portraits. Five Centuries of Portraiture showcases the consideration of meaning behind the image in portraits and is a free event which is open to the public.
In this special exhibition, guests will see how each person’s identity and form are used to convey different attitudes through various artistic styles. It explores the history of portraits while showing contemporary portraitures. The exhibit will include around 30 pieces of American and European art, including some pieces that have never been on display before.
