Guests will enjoy what the 10th annual South Farm Showcase has to offer this Saturday. The University of Missouri’s South Farm Research Center hosts a family-friendly event each fall to give people the opportunity to learn what the university is doing in agriculture, food and natural resources.
The university takes this opportunity to showcase current projects as well as providing some fun for people of all ages. Along with South Farm, Jefferson Farm and Garden will be part of the event for the second year in a row. Guests will learn about beekeeping and local produce as well as have the opportunity to taste local milk and go fishing. Kids can milk a cow and see a falcon in training. New events for this year include pink pumpkin decorating, soil tunnel, horse plow demonstrations and roping. Wagons take people around the farms.
This free event will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016, from 10 AM to 4 PM. Food trucks provide food options for visitors this year. For more information, you can visit the website here.
