The Columbia Art League’s “Exhibition: Inside Voices” examines the personal influences which inspire artists’ works; the external, so to speak, converted to the internal emotions which influence the moods of the artist’s products. It exemplifies many moods: sadness, anger, happiness, fear and all human emotions that give rise to a creative expression through art, encompassing events, objects, persons, and anything else that moves an artist to attempt the expression of a mood transferred to the beholder. It also examines how well that mood is actually transferred. It views artists as receptacles of emotion, who attempt to transfer those emotions to a viewer through art.
The exhibition is a juried show open to both members and non-members of the Columbia Art League. Two works may be submitted for jury consideration, and all artwork must be offered for sale. For more information regarding requirements for submission, please click here.
Saturday January 16, 2016 will be the opening reception of the exhibit, from 6 PM to 8 PM, and the exhibit runs from January 12 through February 19, 2016.
